Board-certified in Family Medicine, with advanced training in hormone optimization and longevity medicine.
Dr. Ilya Rabkin is a board-certified family medicine physician with over a decade of clinical experience spanning academic medicine, global health, and concierge practice. He founded ZinovyMed to practice medicine the way he always believed in — unhurried, proactive, and centered entirely on the patient.
Dr. Rabkin earned his medical degree from the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for his commitment to compassionate patient care. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Fairfax Family Practice, serving as Chief Resident, before joining as faculty and becoming an Assistant Professor at both VCU and UVA.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Rabkin led and organized the global health track at Fairfax Family Practice Residency, directing residents and medical students on sustained medical missions to Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti. In Honduras — working alongside Shoulder to Shoulder, an organization embedded within local communities — he provided preventive care, pediatric medicine, and complex chronic disease management in resource-limited settings far from any specialist. In the Dominican Republic, that care extended into rural home visits, reaching patients who had no other means of access.
Those years of going directly to patients — into clinics, communities, and homes across Central America and the Caribbean — crystallized a belief that exceptional medicine means meeting people where they live. He later earned an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, and founded ZinovyMed to bring that same standard home to Northern Virginia.
"From village clinics in Honduras to living rooms in McLean — medicine has always been at its best when it comes to the patient."
Dr. Rabkin chose family medicine for the relationships — to become a true personal physician who partners with patients across the full arc of their health. His time in global health deepened that purpose, training him to manage complex, multi-system illness with limited resources and no safety net of subspecialists to defer to.
His clinical focus includes:
Outside of medicine, Dr. Rabkin enjoys hiking and camping with his dog Harley, sailing, and volunteering in the community. His connection to nature and service reflects the holistic philosophy that guides both his life and his approach to patient care.
This same philosophy shapes ZinovyMed — a practice built on genuine relationships, unhurried time, and medicine that treats the whole person, not just the diagnosis.
